How it started

From a ute with a rooftop tent to full-time life aboard a sailboat

We're Ash and Vee — an English-Italian couple who moved to New Zealand eight years ago and fell completely in love with this country. The landscapes, the coastline, the freedom of the open road — it got us immediately.

We started exactly where most people start: a ute, a rooftop tent, and a dog. Simple setup, big adventures. Over the years that evolved — from car camping to a caravan, and then to something we never quite planned: becoming full-time live-aboards on our own sailboat.

Every step of that journey taught us something new about what gear actually works, what's worth the money, and how hard it is to figure that out on your own. That's exactly why we started Viaggo.

THE PROBLEM WE SOLVE

Meet Ash & Vee

Ash

Co-founder · RV & Technical

Ash started his career as an RV technician and worked his way up to After Sales Manager at a dealership — giving him hands-on knowledge of everything that goes into building, fitting, and maintaining caravans and motorhomes.

That experience led him to start RVSR — his Auckland North Shore RV installation, servicing and repair business — and eventually Viaggo, where he brings that same expertise to every recommendation.

Vee

Co-founder · Customer Experience & Operations

Vee's background is in customer service — starting front of house and growing into Operations Manager for a small manufacturer and e-commerce business.

At Viaggo, Vee makes sure every interaction feels personal and genuinely useful. Because great gear and a great experience should always come together.
